Advancing the Mission

This sermon draws a parallel between the Australian War Memorial’s Hall of Valour and the biblical “Hall of Faith” in Hebrews 11, showing how stories of faith are meant to lift and strengthen us. Through the lives of Enoch, Noah, and Sarah, it highlights that the kind of faith God is calling us to is about trusting him for the future and in the present, even when circumstances seem impossible, misunderstood, or slow to change. Though imperfect and facing real pressure, these men and women refused to shrink back, living with confidence, hope, and assurance in the unseen God. The message ultimately calls the church to fix its eyes on Jesus and to step into everyday life as the true frontline of God’s mission, marked by resilient, faith-filled courage.
